Most days, it feels like we are experts in change management. Navigating shifts at work and in the electronic information environment, we become skilled at identifying what's different, adapting, and moving forward. e-HLbc is no different. There's change on the horizon, and we're eager to face it.

Nancy Levesque, one of the founding members of e-HLbc, has come to the end of her two terms as Co-Chair representing the post-secondary sector. The Management Committee will miss Nancy's knowledge and experience. On behalf of the organization, I'd like to thank her for the  endless hours of work and dedication that she has contributed to ensuring the success of this consortium.

Grace Makarewicz, Director of the Langara College Library, has been elected as incoming academic Co-Chair.  Grace is currently a member of the Management Committee, so her move to the Co-Chair position has created a vacancy. We're happy to announce that April Haddad, from the Justice Institute of BC, will fill the position.

This spring the Management Committee set priorities for what we wanted to accomplish in the coming year; at the top of the list is strategic planning. This will be e-HLbc's first strategic planning process, and we are looking forward to spending time listening to stakeholders,  investigating what's happening in the external library and health care environment, and mapping out a future directions for the organization.

The full membership of the Steering Committee will be involved in the process, and other key stakeholders will be invited to participate in a meeting planned for later this year. Expect to hear more about this in the coming months.

As we look forward to strategic planning, we have also been examining the foundational documents that established the basic structure of e-HLbc and the roles and responsibilities of members.

This winter, a working group was convened to review and update these governance documents. Consisting of the two Co-Chairs, Anne Allgaier from Northern Health, Ana Maria Ferrinho from BCIT, and shepherded by Leigh Anne Palmer, the group has created new Terms of Reference for the consortium as well as the Management and Steering Committees. The revised documents will be presented to the Steering Committee for approval this spring.

Many thanks to Ana and Anne for the hours and effort they contributed to this project.
